What Are Invisible Braces?

Invisible braces are a series of clear positioners or aligner trays, which you wear over your teeth for a certain amount of time. These positioners are custom made to fit your teeth and gently move them into place. One of our experienced dentists will develop a treatment plan for you based on the current position of your teeth.

How Do They Work?

A set of positioners will be created using innovative digital methods to plot out the course your teeth need to take to end up in the correct position. You’ll wear your positioner for 22 hours a day for two weeks. Instead of having wires on traditional braces tightened, you’ll just pop in a new positioner every two weeks for the length of your treatment plan.

The next positioner will have further movements built in, so your teeth are always being slowly and gently corrected.

What Are The Benefits of Invisible Braces?

Metal braces are notorious for causing discomfort, soreness, pain, and mouth sores. You can skip these side effects with invisible braces because they’re extremely comfortable. These braces achieve the same results as traditional braces and can address:

What Is the Invisible Braces Process?

You’ll have a consultation with one of our experienced dentists to talk about your goals and your concerns. If you both decide invisible braces are the right solution for you, meticulous impressions of your teeth will be taken to create a computerised 3D image of your smile. We will then develop the appropriate plan for you.

We’ll custom make your positioners according to your individual treatment plan. You’ll receive a certain number of aligners based on the current position of your teeth and the desired outcome. Usually, our treatments include 18 to 36 positioners.

What's It Like Wearing and Living with Invisible Braces?

You’ll wear each invisible positioner day and night, removing it to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. We’ve also made allowances for the occasional social event for which you’ll want to remove it. About every two weeks, you’ll move on to the next aligner in the sequence.

We’ll want to see you every four to six weeks to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and give you your next set of aligners.
